When COVID-19 so rudely dropped in on us this year, we unfortunately had to cancel our 2020 Scrapping for a Cure event. HOWEVER, plans are underway to make the 2021 event better than ever!

Due to COVID restrictions (at the time of this being released) being imposed by The Great Hall and the CDC, we will be making some changes to the 2021 event. Keep your fingers crossed that by event time we will get the “all clear” and can resume as we have in the past, but in the meantime, our main goal is to make sure our in-person attendees are as safe as possible and still have a grand time. Specific precautions being used will be posted closer to the event.

Both because we know some of you don’t feel comfortable being around a group of people in a public environment like this, and because of a limited maximum number of people that can now be in The Great Hall at one time, we will be offering both an “in-person” and a “virtual” version of the event for 2021.  Both will be addressed below.

EARLY “OWL” SPECIAL [through November 30, 2020]

We are currently working with local hotels (within 1 mile of event) to finalize contracts. We’ll let you know when done!

Participation is always optional. We will have table décor and costume contests. Start making your plans now!  😊

At this time we have the following vendors that will help you in person and/or virtually before, during, and after the event:

  • A Moment in Time: Brenda Smith, Crystal Reiman, Linda Freed

  • Close to My Heart:  Melinda Everitt, Cheri Wilkerson

  • Creative Memories: Shari Wood

  • Kiwi Lane: Jodi Schersand

Learning opportunities will be offered in both event formats by vendors and SFAC using Facebook and Zoom. These will also be available after the event for extra viewing.

To provide social distancing and less contact with others, our Silent Auction and Raffle will be held virtually for everyone. There will be a small mystery auction for in-person attendees.

A special private FB group will be available for all attendees during and following the event to watch classes and make-n-takes, share photos of projects completed, and to keep in touch with fellow attendees.

A special Zoom Hangout will be available for both groups to go to during the event for giveaways, chats, games, and challenges. What a great way for those that cannot attend in person to “hang out” with those that can!
